Biography
Dr. Catallo is an Associate Professor, Daphne Cockwell School of Nursing, Ryerson University, Toronto, Canada and obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (2001) and PhD in Nursing (2009) from McMaster University, Hamilton, Canada. Cristina’s post-doctoral training (2009-2011), funded by the World Health Organization, focused on knowledge brokering interventions among policy audiences in Europe with Dr. John Lavis (Program in Policy Decision-Making, Department of Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics at McMaster University, Hamilton, Canada) and the European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies (Brussels, Belgium). Dr. Catallo’s program of research focuses on evaluating knowledge brokering approaches and interventions among policymakers, decision makers and organizations working as knowledge brokers. Using systematic review and mixed methods research, Cristina is currently examining how organizations act as knowledge brokers to change evidence use and practice among various audiences.
