Amer Kaissi joined Trinity University in 2003 after earning a Ph.D. degree in Health Services Administration, Research & Policy from the University of Minnesota. While doing his doctoral work, he worked in "Quality Measurement & Analysis" at Allina Hospitals in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Prior to that, he earned a Master of Public Health in Hospital Administration from the American University of Beirut in his native Lebanon

Amer Kaissi research interests include diabetes in primary care clinics, strategic planning, retail clinics, quality of care & patient safety, and application of organizational theories to health care settings. He has published extensively on these topics in various administrative and clinical peer-reviewed journals.

Vladimir Obolenskiy, PhD (2002), Head of the Septic Surgery Unit, City Clinical Hospital â„– 13, Moscow; Associate Professor of the Department of surgery of the Russian National Research Medical University named after N.I. Pirogov, Moscow; correspondent member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences (RANS). He is a member of several professional societies, including EWMA, AO Trauma, participant EBJIS. He has published more than 40 articles in reputed journals and 8 tutorials. He has been serving as an editorial board member of the journal "Wound Medicine" and "International academic journal of RANS".

Nursing

Dennis C. Stevens, M.S., M.D. is a graduate of the Indiana University School of Medicine. He completed post-graduate training in Pediatrics and Neonatal/Perinatal Medicine at the James Whitcomb Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis. He holds a masters degree in clinical research design and statistical analysis from the University of Michigan. He is certified in Pediatrics and Neonatal/Perinatal Medicine. Dr. Stevens joined the faculty of the Sanford School of Medicine in 1980. He is a Professor and the Interim Chairman of the Dept. of Pediatrics and the Chief of Section of Neonatal/Perinatal Medicine. He has served as an attending neonatologist and was recently appointed the Medical Director of the Boekelheide Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of the Sanford Children’s Hospital, Sioux Falls, SD

Stevens has major interest in clinical research, pediatrics and neonatal care, recently investigating the impact of the NICU environment upon tiny preterm neonates and their families.

Evridiki Papastavrou is an assistant professor at the Cyprus University of Technology teaching the Fundamentals of Nursing and Nursing Science. She holds a PhD and a Masters Degree in Nursing (University of Athens and University of Manchester) and a degree in Public Administration. Dr Papastavrou served as a President of the Nursing and Midwifery regulatory body in Cyprus for 6 years (2006-2012) and is an active member of the National Alzheimer’s committee of experts. She also served as a consultant for the evaluation of nursing education programs in Cyprus and in European peer assessment missions concerning the recognition of professional qualifications.  Dr Papastavrou is involved in several international research projects and is a reviewer in many nursing journals.

Dr Papastavrou research interest focus on the concept of care form several different perspectives, like the burden of care, caring behaviours, individualized care as well as the organizational and moral aspects of care.

David Randall, Ph.D. currently serves as Executive Director of the Consumer Driven Health Care Institute based in Washington, DC. (www.cdhci.org) and is Resident Scholar with the American Research and Policy Institute in Washington. Dr. Randall has testified before both U.S. House and Senate committees of Congress on a variety of health policy issues and has extensive experience as a former top insurance regulator, legislative staff member, health care lobbyist, consultant and executive with not only insurance companies, but also with several provider trade groups in Washington. He has over two dozen peer-reviewed and professional publications as well as book chapters on health care entitlements and the policy process surrounding health care reform. His research includes study of Medicaid entitlements and privatization, Health Insurance Exchanges and health care information technology. He received his Ph.D. in Political Science (Policy Analysis and Administration) from Kent State University.

Hana Kadhom has 33 years experience in nursing as a practitioner and educator. Her experience has been across the Middle East and UK. She obtained her PhD from the University of Hull (UK) and she has postgraduate diplomas from British universities (in nursing education and Health & Safety). She is currently a senior lecturer and Director of a Nursing Degree Bridging program in Bahrain and Saudi Aramco. Salim Fredericks got his PhD from St Georges University of London. He is as a senior lecturer in biochemistry in Bahrain. He has published more than 40 PubMed cited articles.

Lars Brorson Fich is educated as an architect, graduating from the school of architecture i Aarhus, Denmark, in 1984. He has worked for 24 years in an architectural office part wise specialized in hospital design, the last 10 years as a partner, before turning to research at the Department of Architecture and media technology at Aalborg University, Denmark, in 2008. He completed his Ph.D. entitled “Towards a Neuroaffective Approach to Healing Architecture” in 2014. His research is concentrated on how architectural space might influence health, concentrating on how space might influence physiological stress reactions.

Nursing

Dr. Storfjell is Professor, Associate Dean for Academic Practice Partnerships and Policy, and is the Executive Director of the Institute for Healthcare Innovation in the College of Nursing at the University of Illinois at Chicago—a top ten ranked nursing school.  She is responsible for the entrepreneurial, continuing education and clinical practice initiatives of the College and also teaches graduate classes on healthcare financial and strategic management.She is founder and past President of a diversified home health care company operating in four states and affiliated with a multi-institutional health care system

Dr. Storfjell is interested in field nursing, communicable disease, home health, and clinic services, health care costs and care management.

Wahoush is an Assistant Professor in the school of nursing at McMaster University, a recent graduate from Faculty of Medicine University of Toronto with a PhD in Health Policy Management & Evaluation (Outcomes measurement & evaluation stream). She has extensive experience in international settings in nursing practice and leadership, education and research. Dr Wahoush’s most recent international experience includes the opening of a new 160 bed pediatric cancer centre in Cairo Egypt and currently coordinating a collaborative Oncology Nursing program with the University of West Indies in Trinidad

Primary interests for education and research are in health system performance and capacity development in communities, specifically in relation to child health, immigrant health, equity, and the application of knowledge and research to practice.  Dr Wahoush received two postdoctoral fellowship awards a Lawson Post Doctoral Fellowship Jan.-Jun 2008 and a CHSRF fellowship Jul 2008 – June 2010
